Burn After Reading

Finally, A Truly Smart and Funny Movie
Dawn Bonner

Lately, when it comes to the movies, I've been feeling like my co-movie reviewer, Arthur Cofresi.  He said, "I don't want to keep writing bad reviews, I feel bad, I really do want to see a good movie."

Well, it's here.  Burn After Reading is smart and funny.  Truly entertaining.

Frances McDormand has a knack of choosing great roles and I have to tell you, it never entered my mind to put her opposite Brad Pitt--but what a treat.  They are the modern day Lucy and Ethel team.  I hope we get to see more of them together.

George Clooney, let me tell you my admiration of him is immense.  In the Hollywood scene where they put the leading man with a woman who is old enough to be his just legal granddaughter-- Clooney never stoops to this level.  He always chooses women who are close to his age and this works well.  He, too has a chemistry with McDormand that is a joy to behold.  My Daniel, his boss, Bill and the bosses wife, Georgia all said they laughed their arses off at this movie.

This is a must have for your video library because the audience was laughing so much, at times you will miss the lines.  Even if you do miss some of the lines due to the laughter, keep your eyes on the screen, the facial expressions are absolutely priceless.  McDormand and Pitt have it going on.
