The Fall

Beautiful and Exoctic
Ron Smith

Setting: 1915 Hollywood Hospital

This is the story about a Hollywood stuntman named Roy played by Lee Pace. Roy is in bad shape, depressed and suicidal because of love gone wrong.

Roy meets a young girl named Alexandria played by Catinca Untaru who has a broken arm. She appears to be about 12 years old. Roy makes friends with her, so he can use her to get him medications from the pharmacy.

She is very innocent and agrees to help him if he tells her a story.
The story he tells, takes us to an exotic land with fantastic characters, who have a common goal. They are not superheroes, but mere mortals with a challenge that seems impossible. Their journey is very visually stimulating.

The story gets darker and darker; reflecting Roy’s real life situation.

I loved this film. It’s beautifully filmed with the exotic location, costumes, and characters, which are true fantasy and wonderful to see.

Catinca is fantastic; her acting is emotionally intriguing and honest.
It’s a good story. The ending reminded me of the Wizard Of OZ.

I recommend seeing this film. It is the kind of film you want in your DVD library.
~Ron
